Numbers 8, 9 and 10!

In June our number 8 grandchild was born to Jeff and Brittany, a girl, Ellison. She's a cutie and smiles all the time! She resembles her big sister Ettoile!

In September our number 9 grandchild was born to Heather and Aaron, a boy, Colton. He's growing non-stop! I don't think he went down from his birth weight, he is 15 pounds and two months old now!

In January number 10 will be born to Jason and Sara!

We are truely blessed! Here is a picture of 4 of the 9!

Too Long------

It's been almost one year! Guess I'm not a true "blogger". I do have excuses and not reasons but we won't get into that. I'm not into "New Years Resolutions" but I committed to blogging better in 2010! We'll see.

In June Bob and I went to Utah to meet my dad and my brother! I had not seen my dad in 15 years and my brother in 27 years. Very sad, but we won't let that happen again. Do you see the resemblance in the slide pictures?

We had a great family vacation in Hawaii, 16 of us there! It was awesome and we're glad our entire family made it. The sad thing is we don't have one picture of all of us together!

September Bob and I went on a Western Mediterranean cruise. We had a great time. The best vacation ever just the two of us! Everything was perfect and all the excursions were worth the expense. We were tired when we got home and have lots of wonderful memories. For the first couple of weeks when we got home, Bob would say, "we would be departing Barcelona right now" or "we would be docking in France right now". It was a priceless vacation and I'm so glad we followed through with it. After Hawaii I contemplated canceling the cruise but we decided to just "go for it".

Thanksgiving was spent home, just the two of us. That was the first ever! WE had a cozy traditional dinner. I committed to work a retail job with a friend from church for the "holiday season". I had a good time and of course spent more money on clothes than I earned. I would definitely do it again!

Christmas was a blast. All of the family came to California and spent the holidays with us. For two weeks we had someone at the house. For about 5 days we had our entire family with us. It was great to see all seven of the grand kids. Heather made them all matching pajama pants. They were adorable. Jason even had a pair that matched that he has had since his mission! We were so tired when everyone left and also sick! It has taken Bob two weeks to start getting his strength back.
But---- Christmas with 16 people was not meant to be. During 2010 we will be blessed with 2 additional grand kids. They come fast, we started with one, then jumped to 4, then we had 7 and by the middle of September we will be at 9!

Keep looking at my blog, I am committed to blog more frequently than last year! That won't be a difficult task since I only blogged once during 2009.

Enjoy, Jill and Bob.

One of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World!

Surprise!!! Bob and I went to the Grand Canyon. We went spur of the moment and stayed in a lodge across the street from the South rim. It was an 8 hour drive from our house. We arrived on Thursday, New Years day around 4:30PM. We stopped at the first view point before it got too dark to see anything. It was cold and there was snow on the ground but the roads were clear. The next day we bundled up and went to the rim and walked around and watched some of the tourists hike. The trail was very slippery so we elected not to hike, but our initial intention was to hike for about 30-60 minutes then turn around. This was my first trip to that beautiful place. Bob has been there three times now. We are going to definitely go back, and hopefully this year. I want to ride a mule down, and not because I don't want to hike but because I want the experience of it and the ability to look at the splendor of the canyon in a different manner. There have been no humans involved in mule accidents so I think I'll be okay!

It was snowing the day we left and we could not see the roads down to the freeway, which was about 50 miles.

We thought this should be the first of a goal of going to visit the 7 wonders of the world, however, there are now like 42 wonders of the world depending on what category you want. At any rate we were just happy to go and visit such a great natural beauty that is within driving distance.

Enjoy the slide show!

Christmas 2008

Christmas was very quiet this year. Josh came over on Christmas Eve and spent the night then we had waffles for breakfast and opened our gifts. No kids, and no noise--- wierd. But I did get a new diamond ring! It will be ready for pick up next week. I've looked at this ring for 10+ years, but am now sad about not wearing the other one. It was also a special time when Bob bought it for me. I had lost the diamond out of the 2nd ring and then we went out one day and bought the marquise which I also love. No more details, you'll have to wait to see it! We kept with tradition and went to the movie. We saw: Yes Man! Two days later we went to San Diego to visit Bob's siblings and get together for an after Christmas celebration. It was fun and it was nice to see everyone and everyone was happy. We missed Bonnie, but I saw her about a week earlier.

Disneyland!

We went to Disneyland, Bob's favorite place on earth,December 13. Josh and Teddie met us there. It was fun, and very cold, and of course very busy!!! But it was fun and we had a good time and did not get home until 2:00 AM.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We met all of ourkids in Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. It was really fn and so nice o see everyone on one location. The babies are getting so big. We sure miss not being able to holdthem all the time. It was fun to see how their personalities are developing. The older grandkids are also changing. We had Preston's birthday and took some family pictures while in Vegas.

We had a great dinner with Tia Paula and cousin Jayne and their family. It's always nice to see Aunt Paula she just loves everyone!

Bob and I drove so we stayed as long as we could, but we had a 9 hour drive home! It was sooo long----but all in all we had a great trip and a great week-end. Thanks everyone for freeing up your schedules to celebrate with us!

Happy Birthday, grandma!!!!

This is old news, but still on my mind-----Kaya came to visit me for my birthday in November. I get up early and take my walk and when I was getting ready to leave she yelled out,"Happy Birthday, Grandma". It was so sweet. Needless to say I did not take my walk. We had a great day, we went to the nail salon and met Josh for lunch at In n Out then we went to the movie to see Madagascar 2. We had a great day and I'm sure Kaya will remember it. Kaya was so home sick, she could not wait for Aaron to come get her so she could go back to Utah! She was so anxious to leave that she did not even get any of the birthday cake she helped make!

When Bob got home we went to dinner at "The Crab House" in Camarillo. We had never been there before, it was nice and relaxing. We went home and had birthday cake! It was a great day!!!
